The Peterson Garden Project

HISTORY: During WWII descendants of Pehr Peterson (of Peterson Avenue and Rose Hill Nursery fame) loaned two blocks of their property to neighbors to create a Victory Garden that helped to feed 100 families during the war.

THE GARDEN TODAY: In the same spirit and on the exact same location, The Peterson Garden Project now offers raised beds and education for 140 Chicago families to grow their own organic produce.

PRESS: Your support in telling the story of WW2 Chicago Victory Gardens and the story of The Peterson Garden Project is important. And there are a lot of great stories to tell! For more information, please contact us at [email protected]:
